ANAHEIM, Calif., USA: If you keep hearing about the dental practice of the future where all of an office’s technology seamlessly and instantly integrates — but you still haven’t seen it in action, it might be time to check in with Henry Schein Practice Management. Front and center is the latest version of the award-winning dental practice management software, Dentrix.

“Dentrix has always been about only two things: Improving efficiency and profitability in the dental practice,” said Dentrix marketing manager Michael Fillmore, in an interview in the Henry Schein Practice Solutions booth at CDA Presents the Art and Science of Dentistry meeting on Thursday. “And you can’t do that if you don’t have a platform that enables all of your technology to talk to each other. Otherwise, integration frustration is bound to come up at a least a few points.”

To make sure Dentrix-based practices don’t ever experience that integration frustration, the company is taking its commitment to open-source software a big step forward. A higher level of proven integration is now being achieved by a growing number of companies that are able to earn “Dentrix Connected” standing.

Many of those companies can be found throughout the CDA Presents exhibit hall. Already, close to 30 providers are able to market their services with a Dentrix Connected logo. The range of services covers virtually every aspect of a dental practice’s operations: the front office, the operatories and everything on the business side.

With more than 230 Dentrix developer members already successfully integrating various services with the platform, the number of Dentrix Connected partners is expected to continue to expand. Everything from the moment a patient contacts an office and on through imaging, treatment planning, scheduling, charting, billing and reporting is able to instantly integrate across a single practice-management platform.

The Dentrix Connected logo assures dental professionals that the software-driven tool or resource behind the logo has been thoroughly tested for full and immediate integration into the Dentrix platform. In short, it’s a practical realization of what has for many been the frustratingly elusive paper-free dental practice, where everybody has immediate access to the information they need, right when they need it.
